Our philosophy at the Underground Investment Network (U.I.N.) is simple:

Empowering investors to take control of their own financial affairs.

To us, being empowered to make your own intelligent decisions relating to investments comes down to three critical things:

  * Knowledge
  It is impossible to make smart decisions about your investments or money without having the appropriate level of knowledge on which to base those decisions. The reason that trillions of dollars were lost by investors in the dot-com meltdown is simple - investors were putting their money into companies and stocks they knew nothing about. They had no idea how to evaluate the companies, and they were simply reading the newspaper and following the advice of the day. No sound research or knowledge was applied, and the meltdown was the direct result of this.

  * Control
  Knowing how an investment works does not necessarily entitle you to investing success. The second cornerstone is maintaining a level of control over your investments. Most people simply hand their money over to mutual fund managers or brokers, without having any real control over where that money is going to be invested. Often, they're not told about all the hidden fees and charges that they will incur, and they're surprised in the end when they realize that their investments didn't turn out the way they were promised they would. The moment you give up total control of your money and investments, you lose the ability to manage the decisions that need to be made in your own best interest.

  * Taking Action
  The final component of investing success is that of taking action. You can know everything there is to know about a certain investment strategy, but until you are willing to take action and apply what it is you know, you'll never make money at it. This is usually the hardest step of the 3 for most investors.

This is where the Underground Investment Network is truly unique, as we provide investors the opportunity to accomplish all three things concurrently. As a member you have voting rights with respect to how the club operates and invests. The Club empowers you to become involved and take action on investments that the individual investor simply could not access on their own. And finally, the fundamental key to the success of the Underground Investment Network is our significant commitment to providing our members an ongoing, world-class educational program. We offer our various educational programs and content through the UIN Education Division.

The unique benefit to members is that the UIN Education Division is actually owned by the Underground Investment Network. As a result, all profits generated by the education programs we offer remain in the clubs, to the benefit of club members!

The UIN Education Division is organized into three primary categories:

  * Free Education Component of Meetings
  At all scheduled Club meetings, we incorporate an educational talk that is designed to increase the awareness and knowledge of all members in attendance. The topics vary and are based on the requests and interest of the members themselves. Topics range from real estate investment strategies, economic overviews and forecasts, insight on what's happening in various markets (such as commodities or bonds), as well as detailed education about specific concepts related to investing (such as inflation or interest rates). Our goal is to have every member who attends a meeting to leave with valuable learning that they can use and apply immediately.

  The best part is that this educational component is included free for all members when they attend a Club meeting.

  + Paid Education Courses
  In addition to the regular educational content provided at Club meetings, we also strive to offer a wide variety of intensive workshops and seminars that focus on specific strategies or concepts. Courses offered by FIC are considered among the best in the United States, and we feature a number of prominent speakers who not only are excellent instructors, but also continue to be active investors in their respective fields. We strongly believe in what Warren Buffett refers to as "eating your own cooking". Our courses are taught by active investors in the market, so you are learning from real-life investors with current experience in what they are teaching - not from someone with only textbook knowledge. We have developed a curriculum of industry-leading programs in a variety of subjects, and teach these professionally produced programs across North America.

  When we do offer paid education courses, UIN members are offered a substantial discount on the price to attend. And again, profits generated by our courses are kept within the clubs, benefiting the members.

  * Educational Programs
  Offered occasionally by our affiliates, we will partner or work with other third-party organizations who have demonstrated significant expertise, knowledge and integrity in other niches are areas that we do not specialize in. In such cases, we will co-host or sponsor an educational program offered by them. Our members will receive a negotiated discount on the programs, and will continue to increase their knowledge base on a variety of topics. This might include how to market effectively on the Internet, or detailed education on how to read, analyze and translate financial statements.

This gives our members the chance to learn from industry leaders and experts on a wide variety of topics and strategies at their option.

  * Financial Services

  UIN members can access the best suite of financial services available. UIN Knows these service companies well and they are excellent at what they do.
